Our staff has a strong background in technical analysis and is capable of dealing with a wide range of engineering needs, including water and wastewater design, traffic safety, storm water management, structural inspections and design, and construction phase services.
SEI commits to taking an aggressive approach in designing and managing projects to meet our client's needs. As such, we offer what we consider to be value-added service. This means consistently providing a level of service beyond the norm expected. Scott Engineering recognizes that many complex issues affect today's site planning and design and that innovative and cost-effective solutions are paramount in order to bring a project into existence successfully.
Scott Engineering, Inc. was founded in 1993 by Greg Scott, P.E. Having worked in the public sector as City Engineer for the City of Dover, Delaware, and in the private sector doing work for private, public, institutional, and commercial entities in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania for many years, Greg saw a growing need for engineers in the State of Delaware and a unique opportunity to realize his lifelong dream of owning his own business. Since the beginning of the firm, SEI has developed a reputation for implementing unique design solutions specific to the client's needs.
Our employees continually expand their knowledge through continuing education to provide the most accurate and comprehensive surveys possible. SEI prides itself on the thoroughness of our research and the quality of our surveys. An example of one type of specialty survey is the Agricultural Lands Preservation Surveys performed for the State of Delaware. SEI has performed numerous surveys of large farm tracts delineating property boundaries, land use types and improvements on the properties.
Our firm has performed numerous hydrologic/hydraulic studies as part of storm water management, stream restoration, and floodplain analysis projects. NPDES permit applications for storm water discharges have been prepared for projects throughout Delaware. Engineers and designers routinely use hydrology and hydraulic computer software such as HEC-1, HEC-2, HEC-RAS, HY-8, TR-55 and TR-20 and frequently attend training workshops to maintain proficiency in their use.
