Nilles Associates, Inc. was established in 1996 in Ankeny, Iowa. We have grown from a small land surveying firm to a full-service civil engineering, land surveying and landscape architecture firm serving a wide range of private and public clients. We strive to make a positive difference to the clients and communities we serve, from the project planning stage through design, contract administration and construction.

Under the direction of John P. Nilles, PE & PLS, the company has become a leader in municipal engineering, land development, stormwater resources design, and master planning.
Services
We develop common sense engineering solutions that are economical, sustainable, and constructable. We listen and have experienced staff to provide expert consultation. The key to successful land development and construction projects is clear, concise communication. Our surveyors have years of experience and utilize the latest technology.
Civil engineers are the planners, designers, constructors, and operators of society's economic and social engine-the built environment. The civil engineers at Nilles Associates, Inc. focus in several areas including: site design + development, stormwater resources, traffic + transportation, wastewater, and potable water.
Nilles Associates, Inc. utilizes its expertise in civil engineering, landscape architecture, and surveying services to provide planning and site design services for a range of client and project types. While assisting municipalities in planning and managing their growth is one of our greatest strengths, we have also worked extensively with private developers, business owners, homeowners, and homeowner associations on projects large and small.
The true impact of changing the historic landscape of Iowa often goes unnoticed. Through our experience with various projects, site visits, and storm water education programs, we at Nilles Associates have become familiar with how land use changes have altered not only our streams, rivers and wetlands, but also how natural vegetation once stabilized landform and utilized natural rainfall. We have worked hard to make stormwater management and pollution prevention a primary area of our design expertise and a key strength of our firm.
