I would 100% recommend McMahon Larue. We bought a house and last minute we were blindsided with FEMA flood insurance (literally 2 days before closing we found out we needed flood insurance) which was going to and did cost us thousands of dollars a year. I called several surveyors and many of them were booked out months and were outrageously expensive for the services they were going to provide.

We were given McMahon Larue's name and I gave one last ditch effort to find a surveyor who would charge us less than a thousand dollars to complete a LOMA and elevation certificate. I spoke to Brian, who was great and provided an explanation of the services they would provide, what those services would entail and if the basic LOMA/elevation certificate did not get us off of the flood plain they could provide us with guidance from their engineering department to make changes on our land to satisfy the elevation requirements.

We closed on 9/11 and their team was at our house on 9/15. They were precise and spent several hours on our land and were very professional. Brian kept us updated throughout the process and let us know that due to COVID FEMA was taking additional time to process documents. Today, I got the email that FEMA reviewed the documents and took us off of the flood plain.

Thanks to McMahon Larue we have essentially saved $90,000 over our 30 year mortgage period now that our flood insurance requirement has been removed by FEMA. We cannot thank them enough for their hard work and would recommend them over and over again to anyone who is in need of surveying and/or engineering needs.

Honest, upfront, and ethical firm! I'm extremely impressed with this firm. They certainly put their clients before the almighty dollar. They could've taken a ton of money from me, but instead pointed out an obstacle I was unaware of. I maybe facing a delay in time, but not a loss of money. Thanks you both very much!
